Evans Majeni is a 41 year old motivated entrepreneur who has mentored many fellow entrepreneurs by word and deed. He is also a business writer running a regular column called streetwise marketing in Marketing Africa Magazine. He has also partnered with Wanjiru Waithaka, a freelance writer to co-author a book serializing leading Kenyan entrepreneurs (twelve in number) which is in the process of publication by East African Educational Publishers.
Evans also does regular talks in schools and churches on business and success on a volunteer basis. “Am a graduate of the university of Nairobi- Bachelor of Commerce- Marketing major having graduated in 1995 with upper 2nd class.” he says of himself. After graduation, he worked in the banking industry for 6 years leaving in 2002 to pursue his interest in business.
My first business venture was called Zebra Promotions which was meant to identify and promote young artists. This failed after our sponsor for the first event where we were to showcase our chosen talented artists refused to pay. There after, he founded the first Mobile motivational and entertainment Library called the Ebony Place Library. “We would get the public to register as members to the library and would deliver and pick back the materials from them at a fee.” he says.
My next business was in publishing in 2002. We had set out to publish a marketing journal. Unfortunately, we were seriously under-capitalized and folded up before our first magazine rolled out of the press. He then went on to became an editor in Marketing Africa magazine as an employee before starting Faidi Development Sacco Society Limited – a micro finance society for small business people.
“I was the founder manager until 2010, when I resigned to concentrate in my other businesses. From the Sacco, I founded Tahidi Capital Limited, a money transfer service company through the mobile phone, Tahidi Homes Limited, a Property Management Company, and Tahidi Digital Limited, Apple computer resellers. We have 19 outlets across the country under Tahidi Capital, managing several commercial houses in Nairobi under Tahidi Homes while Tahidi Digital our youngest Baby is now one year old and growing.”
This is clearly, a story of a very self motivated entrepreneur who never relents on his goals. If you would like to have Evans Majeni speaking in your event, talk to us at Motivational Speakers Africa and we will connect you with him.
